Default What would life be like if The Beatles never existed?

Hi,

Personally, my life would not be all that much different, music would have likely evolved along the course that it did as there were a number of songwriters of equal caliber, like Ray Davies, Pete Townsend, and Jagger/Richards. Sure, one could argue that those songwriters would not have evolved if not for The Beatles, but who can be sure.
However, I do think The Monkees would never have formed, so sadly, the only direct impact outside of not having the Beatles' great music is the absence of The Monkees.....LOL.
Not to be a discussion nazi, but shouldn't this thread be in the Beatles forum?

Please help.
Thanks!

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
